Every young black girls nightmare.

It’s time to get your hair straightened with that hot comb.

I’m talking about the one your mama heated up on the stove. That was the scariest thing in the world! Getting burned with that hot combed burned like hell! I never wanted my mother to get the nape of my neck. I was so afraid she would burn me, so what would I do scrunch up my shoulder’s which she hated. She would burn me occasionally. I used to always hold me ears too because I got burned a couple of times on my ears.

Yes, I know that girls didn't just get their hair straightened in the 90s, but this whole blog is dedicated to my childhood and the 90s just happened to be then so that's why I'm talking about it.

J-U-S-T-F-O-R-M-E

Oh my goodness that was my perm as a child. I loved that perm because of the song and also because in certain boxes the song came on a tape inside.

All My Life

Do ya’ll remember Kci and JoJo’s All My Life. That was like the couple’s anthem in what ‘98(I think). That song had to be played @ like everyone’s wedding. Every time I turned on the radio I remember hearing it even on the YT station.

Gullah Gullah Island

^^That's the only picture I could find!

This was my show. I remember I found out about this Nick Jr. show when I was in the 3rd grade. This was great. This show showed an African American family with a mother and a father that lived in Charleston, South Carolina dealing with everyday life by singing. They also had that great little pollywog that could dance its behind off Binyah, Binyah. This show still comes on but @ 4am on Noggin.

Movies of the 90’s Part 2

This was a great movie. I loved watching it. This movie made you laugh, cry, and cheer. This movie was the one they solidified the thoughts in the people’s minds that yeah Queen Latifah aka Cleopatra liked them girls. I’m pretty sure you’ve seen this movie so you don’t have to pay attention to my synopsis.
This is the story of 4 inner city women tired of their jobs of being janitors, so they come up with the plan of robbing banks. They robbed a few and got away with it but soon the evidence turned to them
**Yeah I know that was short but that was all I could think of!**

Movies of the 90’s Part 1

This has got to be my #1 favorite movie. This movie still makes me laugh until this day. Okay I’m going to make my own synopsis but since this is a movie of he 90s I pretty sure you’ve seen this movie more than once.

Craig is a young man that has gotten fired from his job because he got caught on camera stealing boxes(which he claims he didn’t do). Without having a job his best friend Smokey comes over to hang with him and get him high. Craig has never smoked a day in his life(yeah right). Okay, so his friend Smokey who is a drug dealer and smoker gets in trouble with his “boss” Big Worm for doing more smoking than selling and has to come up with $500 dollars by 8pm(I think). Along the way mayhem and funny times occur with Dana, Stanley, Debo, Felicia(The Crack head), and Ezel(the bum).

It’s written all over your what??

Face. I used to love that song. Also, Gerald Levert was on the track and who didn’t love Mr. No Casanova. I’ll say it again music was great in the 90s.
